3 wives, 32 children and 25 grandchildren - 100 K per year in childern welfare

"Patriarch of a Syrian clan in Leipzig with three wives (under Islamic law), 32 children and 25 grandchildren. Two-thirds of the family have criminal records and receive almost €100,000 per year in child benefit (Kindergeld).

Saxony's LKA (State Criminal Police Office) has identified four Syrian clans in Leipzig (between 700 and 1,000 members in total) linked to organized crime, exploitation of social welfare benefits, and family structures that complicate deportations or legal proceedings due to German family protection laws.

The case, covered by media outlets such as BILD and WELT, has revived the debate over the welfare system's incentives for large families, polygamy under civil law, and the integration of certain migrant groups, amid a rise in clan-related crime in eastern Germany."
