Data from Germany's Federal Criminal Police Office for 2023 showed that migrants are severely overrepresented among violent crime suspects in Germany.
Non-Germans make up roughly 15% of Germany's population, and they accounted for approximately 41% of all criminal suspects and roughly 40.7% of suspects in violent crime categories (such as robbery and aggravated assault) in 2023.
There was a 14.5% increase in foreign violent crime suspects compared to the previous year, whereas German violent crime suspects rose by only 2.2%.
