Ian Roberts — the illegal alien who somehow rose to superintendent of Des Moines Public Schools — was sentenced today by US District Judge Rebecca Goodgame Ebinger (S.D. Iowa) to 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧 for falsely claiming US citizenship on employment paperwork and illegally possessing firearms. After he serves his time, he’ll be deported to his native Guyana.

 

Roberts entered the US in 1999 on a five-year student visa and never had legal authorization to live or work here for the bulk of his 𝐭𝐰𝐨-𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Federal agents found guns at his district vehicle and his home.
