The clip is short and the children are small. On camera, students filmed at schools run by UNRWA — the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees — recite what they have been taught. 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘥∗𝘦. 𝘗𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴. 𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘺𝘦𝘥. A separate recording in the same series goes further still: 𝘞𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘣 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘑𝘦𝘸𝘴. This is not one rogue classroom. 𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐝𝐨𝐠 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐓-𝐬𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬. UNRWA runs more than 180 schools in Gaza alone, educating some 286,000 children, and education swallows well over half its entire budget. Reviewers found its materials encourage jihad, glorify martyrdom, and drench young minds in antisemitism — while never once teaching that peace is possible, let alone preferable.

The fruit of that curriculum is not theoretical. 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐓-𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐚 𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐔𝐍𝐑𝐖𝐀 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟕 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐞 — men so celebrated by their movement that one attacker was found with a UNRWA diploma in his car. The agency built to shelter children has, in too many of its classrooms, been manufacturing the next generation who would slaughter them.

For decades American taxpayers were the single largest funder of all of it. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟𝐟 — 𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 — and Congress now bars its return until a Secretary of State can certify the dollars are not bankrolling incitement. That is not cruelty toward refugees. It is the least a sane nation owes its own conscience.

𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐱-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐬 — 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
