Just for a break from so many serious subjects I've been writing about, here it is a change: 'El Cristo de Santa Muerte', hymn of the Spanish Foreign Legion."

"Muslim refugees come to Europe because this continent is 'infected' with a virus called 'Suicidal Empathy: Dying to Be Kind' (Gad Saad)."

Suicidal empathy is a purported phenomenon in which excessive, misdirected and pathological forms of empathy are destructive for the party that exhibits it. Proponents of the concept claim it happens through prioritizing compassion, understanding and empathy over logic and long-term consequences.

The term was coined by Canadian marketing professor Gad Saad in his book Suicidal Empathy: Dying to Be Kind. According to Saad, suicidal empathy is the inability to implement optimal decisions when one is psychologically conditioned to prioritize empathy or displays of empathy over a rational course of action.

He argues that suicidal empathy prioritizes minority groups such as illegal immigrants at the expense of survival and security of one's own groups and values. For example, Saad argues that in the United States, soldiers fighting for the country receive much less empathy than immigrant gang members. He associates the concept with the morals of Aesop's fables The Farmer and the Viper and The Scorpion and the Frog."

Germany: Outrage as Syrian refugee with four wives and 23 kids ‘claims £320,000 in benefits every year’

He was given special ‘exemption’ to choose his ‘main’ wife and class the other three as ‘friends’.

A Syrian migrant has sparked outrage after allegedly using his four wives and 23 children to rake in over £320,000 a year in benefits.

The man named only as Ghazia A fled Syria with his huge family last year and has since settled in Germany.

He doesn’t work and instead lives off the huge benefit bung, according to a financial manager who worked out what the state is liable to fork out.

There is no official confirmation of the £320,000 figure.

Under Islamic law a man can marry up to four wives as long as he is able to give them financial support.

However, German law does not recognise polygamous marriages.

But instead of the marriages being ignored, the refugee was given special leeway to choose his “main wife”.

The other three women were then categorised as “friends” in an arrangement a local official described as an “exemption”, German daily Rhein-Zeitung reports.

Gazia, 49, lives with his “main” wife Twasif and their five children in the Rhineland-Palatinate town and visits his other families that live in the surrounding area every few days.

He said he used to run a garage and car hire service in Syria before the country’s descent into civil war, allowing him to provide for his family.

However he has not worked since the move to Europe last year on the back of Chancello rAngela Merkel‘s open door policy.

He told German daily Bildhe was committed to his families: “In our religion it is my duty to visit every family and to be with them.

“I am practically all the time go to with my family to be together – and I would like to find work again.”

Immigrants with multiple wives will get more benefits, officials admit

Immigrants with multiple wives will receive higher benefits payments in future as Government attempts to tackle the problem backfire.

One Man, Three Wives, and Taxpayer-Funded Benefits – Is Britain’s Welfare System Encouraging What the Law Forbids?
Let’s talk about a legal contradiction that’s flying under the radar.

We now have reports of polygamous households in Britain – where a man has multiple “wives” under unofficial religious arrangements – potentially claiming thousands in extra welfare benefits. And this is happening while polygamy itself remains illegal under UK law (bigamy carries a prison sentence).

Take the case of Nabilah Phillips, a former Cambridge engineering PhD student who chose to become a second wife, and then a third wife joined the family. Her husband, Hasan, admits juggling three separate London households is “like spinning plates.”

But here’s the uncomfortable question nobody seems to be answering clearly: How can the state simultaneously criminalise polygamy, yet allow benefit rules that effectively reward it?
Under current rules, a husband with multiple partners may claim additional Universal Credit or housing benefit for each “household” – because each wife is recognised as a single parent. Taxpayers end up subsidising arrangements that the law says shouldn’t exist in the first place.

That’s not a judgement on anyone’s culture or faith. It’s about consistency.
If polygamy is illegal, the welfare system shouldn’t be structured to fund it – whether directly or by loophole. Otherwise, what exactly are we saying? “It’s illegal, unless you call it something else”?

Strolling in a park, a London businessman and his THREE wives - just one of up to 20,000 such multi-wife marriages in polygamy Britain.

As a bright, eager student at Cambridge University, with one degree already under her belt, Nabilah Phillips could look forward to a successful career and comfortable future.

After completing her engineering PhD she would, perhaps, take up a coveted, highly-paid job in industry, or stay on as an academic lecturing the next generation.

Instead, however, Nabilah, now 35, took an extremely unexpected path. She abandoned her studies, forfeiting her hard-won university place and entered a polygamous marriage, becoming the second wife of London businessman Hasan Phillips, 32 — who has since acquired a third wife.

How many acid attacks are there, in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Índia and Zanzibar?

The acid attack on two young British women in Zanzibar has cast a spotlight again on a sinister crime. How often do such assaults happen?

Anyone who throws acid in someone's face intends to scar them for life.

It is a crime with a marked gender skew. Experts say that women and girls are victims in 75-80% of cases. Of the female victims, about 30% are under 18.

The case of Kirstie Trup and Katie Gee, British tourists in Zanzibar, who had acid thrown on their faces, chests and hands, has caused revulsion.

The artistic director of Russia's Bolshoi Ballet was attacked in January. Now after 18 operations he is still almost completely blind, external, according to reports.

Another high profile case was that of Katie Piper, who in 2008 was the victim of an acid attack orchestrated by herjealous boyfriend. Since then she has had nearly 100 operations andbecome a campaigner.

Bolshoi Ballet artistic director Sergei Filin was attacked in January

NHS statistics for England do not separate out acid attacks. In 2011-12 there were 105 hospital admissions in England for "assault by corrosive substance", but the category covers more than just acid.

But 1,500 cases are recorded around the world every year, according to the Acid Survivors Trust International. "That is likely to be massively underreported," says Jaf Shah, ASTI executive director. "Most victims are fearful to report it to the police for fear of reprisal."

The lack of solid reported figures makes it hard to say whether acid attacks are on the rise globally, Shah says.

India has an increasing problem with acid attacks.ASTI estimates that 1,000 take place there every year. Eight weeks ago the country's supreme court criticised the Indian government for failing to act on the problem.

Mohammad Jawad, a plastic surgeon who helped rebuild Katie Piper's face and works with victims in South Asia, says the crime is about trying to destroy someone's identity.
