40,000 Bangladeshis live in Lisbon, 5,310 Pakistani citizens have acquired Portuguese nationality, 10,828 Pakistani citizens are having residence in Portugal

 

 

The number of Pakistani immigrants in Portugal has seen significant growth in recent years. As of the latest data, there are approximately 7,786 Pakistanis residing in Portugal, which represents a 256% increase since 2016. Additionally, 2,839 Pakistanis have obtained Portuguese citizenship since January 2016. These numbers are subject to change, but they give an idea of the growing Pakistani community in Portugal.

There are an estimated 40,000 to 50,000 Bangladeshi immigrants living in Portugal. This includes around 9,916 individuals recorded in the 2020 census. The Bangladeshi community is notably concentrated in Lisbon, where they play a significant role in various sectors of the economy, including restaurants, agriculture, and retail.

Approximately 40,000 Bangladeshis live in Lisbon, with an additional 10,000 spread across other regions in Portugal. The majority of the Bangladeshi community in Portugal originates from the Sylhet region.
According to Portuguese authorities, 5,310 Pakistani citizens have acquired Portuguese nationality from 2008 to 2022. According to SEF (Foreigners and Border Service), 10,828 Pakistani citizens are having residence in Portugal as of 2022
